How it works

Who are we?

Chartopus is the culmination of a combined 30+ years of  modelling poker games. This started all the way back in 2009, with the early adoption of new modelling techniques and beta testing public tools. This slowly transformed over time into making our own tools and algorithms since 2015 to improve our poker game, as most of the available tools were lacking.

Now, we have moved on from playing and we are offering services to poker operators, poker apps, stables and high value poker players.

INDUSTRY EXPERTS

A big part is having convenient review tools for your players. With Chartopus you don’t need a Solver, database, server space, computation space or expensive preflop charts. This makes Chartopus a lightweight, flexible Solving As A Service platform. We also have a deep understanding of the operational side of poker and could assist you managing poker liquidity in a prosperous way.

BE PREPARED FOR EVERYTHING

What makes us Special?

ALL pokersolvers have trade-offs. Next to being expensive, you need to choose between the SPEED, FLEXIBILITY and STRENGTH of the solutions. With Chartopus you get it ALL with the smart usage of state of the art Counter Factual Regret (CFR) Algorithms in combination with several different neural networks to increase robustness and speed of the calculations. You get the best of all three without choosing!

The Theory

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO KNOW NASH EQUILIBRIUM (GTO)?

A common misconception is why a NASH equilibrium strategy is important to learn for ANY poker game you play. Often heard statements are: My opponents play very weak, my opponents don’t play GTO, my opponents are crazy, I have my own style to beat my game and other reasons often come up when trying to dismiss balanced Nash equilibria and their importance.

Whilst this may be true to a certain extent, it is important to realize that from a theoretical standpoint, you CANNOT profitably adjust if you do not know the foundations to adjust from.

Nash equilibria allow you to NOT LOSE no matter what your opponent throws at you in game. Aggressive, passive, wide, loose, it doesn’t matter. A strategy profile is a Nash equilibrium if no player can do better by unilaterally changing the strategy. To see what this means, imagine that each player is told the strategies of the others. Suppose then that each player asks himself: “Knowing the strategies of the other players, and treating the strategies of the other players as set in stone, can I benefit by changing my strategy?

This means that being good at estimating Nash equilibria, for any given game, will also make you a WAY stronger poker player in exploiting your opponents! If you ‘know’ what the correct action is in any given situation, you also know better when opponents are deviating from this strategy and how to respond. Nash equilibriums, pre and post-flops should be seen as the BUILDING BLOCKS of your poker game, don’t start with exploits, start with a strong base and go from there!
